Dr. Eva Skerl, Registered Psychologist #1045, specializes in individual and couples therapy and maintains a Private Practice in Delta, British Columbia.
Her doctoral research in Austria focussed on depresssion and dependency. Since earning a doctorate in psychology in Austria, Dr. Eva Skerl has worked as a psychologist in Vienna for the Austrian government in child protection for over 3 years. After moving to Canada to further her education, she worked at the Vancouver Christian Counselling Centre for 25 years and has maintained a Private Practice in Delta for the last 18 years. As a private practitioner she provides services for a broad spectrum of adult and adolescent clients. Among her areas of expertise are all trauma related injuries of clients, depression, anxiety, spiritual concerns and any stress related issues.
In addition to her work as a private practitioner she provides supervision to a number of counsellors.
Coming from a cognitive behavioral background Dr. Eva Skerl completed further training in family systems and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and incorporated mindfulness, psychodynamic and body-oriented approaches into her therapy. She maintains an ongoing regimen of professional development. She provides a safe place for her clients, support, opportunity to reflect, discover and learn to effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion, dedication and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth and healing they are committed to accomplishing.
